ISTEL 3000 has entered into a strategic partnership with the Slovenian company ELPA d.o.o., becoming its exclusive distributor in Ukraine. ELPA is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of technologies that reduce noise, friction, and wear in rail transport.
This partnership opens new opportunities for the implementation of modern, eco-friendly, energy-efficient, and high-tech solutions in Ukraine’s tram infrastructure, metro systems, and railway network.
ELPA d.o.o. specializes in the development and deployment of systems designed to reduce noise, wear, and vibration in high-friction zones between the rail and wheel — particularly on curved sections and near railway stations. The company owns the registered WONROS® technology and holds over 30 patents in this field.
ELPA’s products are widely used in Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic, Austria, and other European countries. The company’s solutions are certified by leading international institutions, including Deutsche Bahn and the International Union of Railways (UIC), and have received a European Eco-Product Award.
Key ELPA Solutions:
CL-E1 – A stationary rail lubrication system installed on curved sections of track. It ensures precise dosing of lubricant to the contact zone, reducing both noise and rail wear.
I-ROCK (on-board system) – An automated onboard system that applies lubricant between the wheel and rail. When used with CHFC lubricant, it provides an effective solution for all types of rolling stock — including locomotives, electric trains, and trams.
BREMEX ANNSYS® – A noise-reduction system for braking positions on hump yards. It reduces noise levels from 130 dBA to 30 dBA and significantly extends the service life of brake shoes.
Benefits of ELPA Solutions:
Noise reduction of up to 99.9%
Rail wear reduced by over 3.3 times
Wheelset wear reduced by up to 70%
Infrastructure service life extended by 2 to 3 times
Lower maintenance and repair costs
ELPA’s technologies are a smart, future-ready response to the needs of Ukraine’s railway, tram, and metro systems. They help reduce urban noise, extend the life of infrastructure, and optimize operational costs.
These solutions are already in use in Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic, and Austria, tested by Deutsche Bahn and UIC, and recognized with a European Eco-Product Award.
ISTEL 3000 will provide full technical support, adapt the systems to Ukrainian conditions, and ensure certification in accordance with national legislation. Our engineers have completed specialized training from ELPA, and the first pilot projects are already being prepared for implementation.
