The first international forum, “Ukraine – Reconstruction and Business Revival” was held in Slovenia, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers, embassy representatives, international development institutions, and other stakeholders. The primary objective of the event was to explore avenues for fostering economic cooperation between Ukraine and Slovenia, alongside the active participation of the Slovenian government and business sector in Ukraine’s reconstruction and recovery efforts. Forum discussions also centered on enhancing collaboration between Slovenian enterprises and Ukrainian businesses seeking to penetrate international markets.
A key outcome of the forum was the introduction of Slovenian innovations and the strategic support from the Slovenian government in Ukraine’s recovery initiatives. Specifically, Kontron, one of Slovenia’s foremost exporters of telecommunications equipment, in partnership with the Center for International Cooperation and Development (CMSR), offers Ukrainian clients access to non-repayable grant funding from the Slovenian government. These grants can be utilized to develop new telecommunications infrastructure or to restore existing networks—critical elements both during the ongoing conflict and in the post-war reconstruction phase.
ISTEL 3000, as the official representative of Kontron in Ukraine, shared its expertise and outlined the procedural steps for clients to secure non-repayable grant funding from CMSR. This funding is pivotal for maintaining the stability of communications for essential Ukrainian enterprises, even amidst the ongoing conflict. The initiative is strategically significant, as it provides Ukrainian companies with the resources required for infrastructure projects without imposing additional financial burdens.
During the forum, Ukrainian representatives emphasized the urgent need to rebuild destroyed cities, critical infrastructure, and civilian facilities, while also highlighting the importance of attracting foreign investors to support these efforts. Special attention was given to the NAZOVNI platform, which serves as a vital tool for fostering cooperation between Ukrainian and international companies.
The Slovenian delegation, including representatives from the business sector, presented proposals to support Ukraine’s recovery. The Slovenian government, in collaboration with CMSR, provided detailed information about its state program for allocating grant funds for reconstruction projects and outlined the key steps required to apply for them.
The forum served as a crucial platform for exploring cooperation opportunities between Ukraine and Slovenia. It facilitated the establishment of new connections between Ukrainian communities, businesses, government institutions, and Slovenian partners.
The ISTEL 3000 team gained valuable new opportunities for collaboration, which will contribute to projects aimed at restoring critical communications infrastructure in Ukraine. These projects are designed to address the challenges of the ongoing war and support the country’s long-term post-war recovery goals.
