In early October 2025, the ISTEL 3000 team visited the manufacturing facility and testing ground of the Slovenian company ELPA d.o.o., a European leader in technologies for reducing noise and wear in rail infrastructure.
During the visit, our specialists became acquainted with the company’s operations, explored its innovative rail transport solutions, and participated in hands-on training on the installation and operation of equipment based on WONROS® technology.
The training program began with a presentation of the patented WONROS® technology, which reduces rail wear and noise caused by friction between wheel and rail. ELPA d.o.o. experts showcased a complete range of rail transport solutions — from trams to high-speed lines — developed on the basis of this technology.
A key focus of the training was the full installation cycle of one of the core components of the WONROS® technology — the CL-E1® system. ELPA d.o.o. engineers delivered a step-by-step demonstration of the mechanical assembly, connection of hydraulic and electrical subsystems, and shared practical guidance for ensuring long-term, reliable operation in real-world conditions.
Our specialists had the opportunity to perform selected installation tasks under the supervision of ELPA d.o.o. engineers, gaining invaluable hands-on experience. The training also included a detailed demonstration of the CL-E1® system with its protective cover removed, providing insight into the internal structure, functional elements, and technical specifications of the components.
Special attention was given to the composite lubricant used in the CL-E1® system. Our team learned about its preparation, storage conditions, and optimal usage timelines.
Upon completion of the course, ISTEL 3000 specialists successfully passed a final knowledge assessment and received personal certificates from ELPA d.o.o., confirming their technical competence in the application of WONROS® technology.
